I came across these two checklists while browsing the internet one night several months ago. I finally printed them out, put them in cute frames and found a home for them last month. The morning routine now hangs on our wall in the kitchen, which is where we spend most of our time in the mornings and the bedtime routine lives in the girl’s bathroom. This style of checklist works really well for young children who are not reading yet (we have a 3 and 5 year old).
We always had a morning/bedtime “routine” with the kids but it was never in any particular order so there was always the nights where someone would forget to go to the potty before bed or the mornings where I would be wasting time double checking everything before running out of the house. These two printouts have helped to make such a difference in getting both of my children to bed on time every night and out of the house every morning. Having a visual of what is expected of them has limited all confusion on their end and has not only provided structure during the craziest times of morning and night but our girls actually get excited to get to the next item on the list!
If you do not have a morning/bedtime routine for your kids I suggest you check these out! A big thank you to iheartorganizing.blogspot.com for creating these super simple routines!
